Sharon Holmes McVay, Age 75, of Kansas City, KS., passed away Monday, June 25, 2018. A Celebration of her life will be “Picnic Style” on Sat. July 7th from 11am-1pm, at Hawthorn Park (1100 Ohio St.) in Leavenworth, KS.
Sharon was born on July 21, 1942 in Kansas City, Kansas. She was a Cheerleader at Linwood High School and also participated in 4H. Sharon married her High School Sweetheart and they had had three sons together. She was married 29 years during which she went to Browns Business College for Coding and JCCC for Home Decorating. She worked as a EMT & Treasurer for the Edwardsville EMS, a Paraprofessional for the KCK School District, and the IRS in Leavenworth. Sharon was a member of the Jaycee Janes, Eastern Star and Job's Daughters. In 1999 she married Bobby McVay and he preceded her in death. Sharon is also preceded in death by her son Andy Holmes and grandson Anthony Holmes. Survivors include her sons Steven Holmes and Kurtis Holmes, seven grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
