Obituary for Ronald Kerby Stean

Ronald Kerby  Stean
Ronald “Ron” K. Stean, age 87 a lifelong resident of Bonner Springs, Kansas went home to be with the lord on Friday, Oct. 11, 2013. Graveside Funeral Service will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15 at the Bonner Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends at a visitation from Noon to 1:00 p.m. prior to the service at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to Sunshine Home Health Care in care of the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home.
Ron was the 2nd of 5 children born to Adney “Smokey” and Iva (Kerby) Stean. He married his wife Lillian (Turner) Stean on Sept. 26, 1946. Ron proudly served in the U.S. Army with the 242nd Rainbow Division “B” Company during WWII. He worked for Ed Roberts Chevrolet and the Bonner Springs School District #204 as a bus driver and custodian. Ron was a longtime member of the Bonner Springs Lions Club and the Bonner Springs VFW Post #6401. He and his wife enjoyed bowling and Ron was the Senior Kansas State Bowling Champion.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one son Troy E. Stean, as well as two brothers Adney “AB” and Billy Joe Stean. Survivors include his wife Lillian of the home, two children Karen Reitz and husband George of Easton, KS. and Rodney Stean of Shawnee, KS., one sister Donnavean Ridens of Linwood, KS., one brother LaVern Stean and wife Georgia of Bonner Springs, KS., two granddaughters Kristel and Molly Reitz and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
