Jay D. Skalla, age 49, of Kansas City, KS. passed away on Sept. 14, 2018 following an accident. Visitation will be 10-11am, Tuesday Sept. 18 at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home, a Graveside Funeral Service will follow at 11:30am, at the Bonner Springs Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family strongly suggests, memorial contributions to his daughter ShyAnn Skalla, to help with expenses. Those can be mailed to the funeral home.
Jay was born on Jan. 3, 1969 in Kansas City, KS and had lived his entire life in the Kansas City, KS area. Jay dedicated his life to his daughter, his motorcycle, his guitar, and his Mountain Dew. He was a simple man, who loved his family. He loved his Rock and Roll, and you could always bet on him to be there when the hard times came rolling.
Jay was preceded in death by his grandparents, his father Paul Skalla and his mother Francie Thompson.
Survivors include his daughter ShyAnn Skalla (Devon) and son Dakota Perry (Megan) both of Kansas City, KS., five siblings; Jeff Skalla (Amy) of Basehor, KS., Brian Skalla (Kristie) of Basehor, KS., Mandi Daniels (Mike) of Bonner Springs, KS., Chris Skalla (Christina) of Beattie, KS., Anna Skalla also of Beattie, KS., and two very close friends; Mike O’Connell and Kenya Mester.
