Obituary for
Garry W. Boyer
Garry “Gig” “PaPa” W. Boyer, age 58, of Basehor, Kansas and previously of the Turner area in Kansas City, KS., passed away on Thursday, Dec. 27, 2018 at his family home in Turner. The family will receive friends at a visitation from 10-11am, followed by the Funeral at 11am, both Wednesday, Jan. 2nd at the Haven Baptist Church (3430 Hutton Rd., Kansas City, KS.) burial will be in the Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens Cemetery in Shawnee, KS. Memorial contributions can be made to the Haven Baptist Church or the Kansas City Hospice.
Garry was born on Jan. 18th, 1960, Kansas City, KS., and grew up in Turner. From an early age he loved motorcycles, especially Harley-Davidson’s. Garry also loved to fish and was known to be very ornery and always the jokester. In recent years, he had knitted thousands of Stocking Caps for children through “Operation Christmas Child” that were sent to needy children all over the world. For many years, Garry had worked at Atmos Energy.
He was preceded in death by his father Stan Boyer, and Stepfather John Schuler.
Survivors include his wife of 17 years, Brenda Boyer of the home, three children; Katie Boyer, Sgt. Clinton Boyer and Albrie Boyer, four grandchildren; Elias, Gillian, Wyatt and Marshall, his mother Shirley Schuler, sister Cherri Foster of Raleigh, NC., two brothers; Larry & Dana Boyer of Turner and Rusty & Cindy Boyer of KC, KS., step-sister Debbie & Kevin Davoren and step-brother Scott Boyer.
