Chris was born on September 25, 1952 in Kansas City, Kansas and grew up in the Turner area, graduating from Turner High School. Over the years Chris had various jobs in Law Enforcement. He had also worked as a painter. Chris was a member of the Central Church of the Nazarene in Lenexa, Kansas and that is where he married his wife Caroline on August 28, 1971. He was preceded in death by his parents Rose and Wade Riggs. Survivors include his wife Deltie Caroline Riggs of the home, two children Patrick Martin Riggs and wife Karen of Fairbanks, Alaska and Crystal Marie Heistand and husband Larry of St. Joseph, Missouri, One sister Patricia Slaughter and husband Art of Joplin, Missouri, two grandsons Aaron and Richard Schmoldt.
