Obituary for Chad Jeffery Mauzey

Chad Jeffery Mauzey, 29 of Shawnee, KS passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2019. Chad was born on October 27, 1989 in Shawnee, KS to Jeff and Melinda (Peavler) Mauzey. Chad was a 2008 graduate of Mill Valley High School where he was on the wrestling, baseball and football teams. He was employed by the family business Mauzey Concrete Construction, LLC. Chad was a kind, caring son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and always a friend to anyone he met. He loved holidays with his family, with Christmas being his favorite. He enjoyed spending time at his family lake house at the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri where he enjoyed riding wave runners, boating and sitting around the fire in the evenings. Chad had a soft spot in his heart for animals and children, especially those in his mom's daycare. The kids loved playing with him and he became like a big brother to most of them.
Chad was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Gerald Peavler; paternal grandparents Bill and Delores Mauzey; and aunt LuAnn Baker. He leaves behind his parents Jeff and Melinda Mauzey of Shawnee, KS and two brothers Brad Mauzey of Shawnee, KS and Matt Mauzey and his wife Shianne of Easton, MO. His maternal grandmother Judith Peavler of Shawnee, KS and uncles James Peavler of Topeka, KS; Kenny and his wife Pam Peavler of Shawnee, KS and Henry and his wife Jennifer Peavler of Shawnee, KS; as well as countless other family members and friends who will forever miss his smile and laugh.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday July 14, 2019 from 3 to 6 pm, at the Harrington Family Event Center at 218 Oak St. in Bonner Springs, KS.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Mirror, Inc. 6723 State Ave. Kansas City, KS 66102.

Jeff I'm so sorry to hear of Chad's passing. We raise our kids as best as we know how but sometimes life doesn't work out the way we hoped for. I'd planned on coming to the memorial but unforseen circumstances have happened and we won't be able to attend. You and your family are in my prayersčÖĆ

Words cannot express to you of the sadness we share with you on the loss of your precious son. He may be gone from this earth but he is now free of the demons that he carried. He is now pure in God's arms.
God be with all of you and bless you fully.

No words can express how you deal or feel right now. Chad always smile and cracking jokes. Please watch over all of us. And tell the ones that are gone before us we love and miss them.
