Brian Keith  Thomas
Brian Keith Thomas, age 59, of Shawnee, KS., passed away on Saturday, May 12th, 2018 after a long a battle with Leukemia. Visitation will be 6 to 8pm Friday, May 18th and the Funeral Service will be 10am Saturday, May 19th, both at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home, burial to follow in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kansas City, KS., Memorial contributions can be made to the Kansas City Hospice House.
Brian was born on April 28, 1959 in Kansas City, Kansas and was a lifelong area resident. He grew up in the Shawnee and DeSoto areas and graduated from DeSoto High School in the class of 1977. After high school, Brian worked at Theno's Grain Company in Bonner Springs and helped his father on the family farm. He then went into business with his brother, Paul Thomas, forming Thomas Brothers Construction, building many Custom Homes in Western Shawnee. Brian’s true passion was the Open Road, riding his Harley-Davidson to many destinations and logging over One Hundred Thousand Miles on his Road King, most with his riding buddy; Dan White.
Brian was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Carol Anderson in 2012, and by his father, Garland Robert “Bob” Thomas in 2013.
Survivors include his three children; Rita Maunee Woods (Ben) of Concordia, MO., Nicholas Ryan Thomas (Kristen) of Shawnee, KS., and “Frankie” Sarah Thomas of Shawnee, KS., his mother Shirley Thomas of Shawnee, KS., brother Mike Thomas (Darla) of Manhattan, KS., sister Susan Hayes (Brian) of Hutchinson, KS., brother Paul Thomas (Vickie) of Shawnee, KS., and four grandchildren Taylor, Brodie, Caitlin and Cody.
