Doris Annalee (Johnson) Caswell, age 80, of Kansas City, KS., passed away on her birthday, May 6, 2017 while surrounded by her family at her home. Visitation 6-7pm, Funeral 7pm Wednesday, May 10, at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home. Burial 2pm Thursday in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Chetopa, KS.

Doris was born on May 6, 1937 in Cherokee County, Kansas at her family’s home. She was the oldest of seven children born to Hank & Freda (Ferguson) Johnson. Doris grew up and attended school in Chetopa, KS. She married George “Jr.” Caswell on July 24, 1953 in Trinity, Texas and together they raised their children in Kansas City, KS. Doris retired after more than 20 years at the JC Penny Warehouse in Lenexa, KS. However the job she enjoyed the most was taking care of the babies and it didn't matter whose babies they were. Doris had a very loving heart and her home was always open to those who loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother; Henry David Johnson, one daughter; Sandra Lynn Frakes, adopted Son; Mike Gilland, Two Grandchildren; Christina Frakes & Bobby Stanfield.
Survivors include her husband George “Jr.” Caswell of the home. Children; Sherry Rose (Tom) of Atchison, KS., George “Butch” Caswell, Melissa Logan (Brian Burdette) and Steven Caswell all of Kansas City, KS., Siblings; Lucille Canada (John) of Chetopa, KS., Bob Johnson (Sharon) of Olathe, KS., Bill Johnson (Diane) of Chetopa, KS., Archie Johnson of Chetopa, KS, Linda Castle of Bonner Springs, KS., 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
