Obituary for Jacob Charles "Jake" Fouts

Jacob Charles "Jake"  Fouts
Jacob Charles Fouts, 36, of Basehor, KS passed away peacefully, April 1, 2017, after a three year battle with brain cancer. Jake was born July 15, 1980 and attended Basehor schools, graduating in 1998. He was an electrician with Elite Electric and always happy to help friends and family with electrical projects. He had a willingness to help others and spent much time as an important member of the Fouts Family Farm. Jake loved the outdoors, especially fishing, camping and the yearly snow skiing trips with good friends. Family was special to him and he loved spending time with his two nieces and nephew. Throughout his illness he was a true inspiration to all with his positive attitude and wanting to put others feelings before his own. The doctors and nurses who cared for Jake quickly became good friends and were uplifted with his constant amazing spirit. Jake loved sports and never missed a Royals, Chiefs and KU Basketball game.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Jack and Grace Fore. Jake is survived by his parents, Martie and Steve Fouts, a brother, Travis (Shannon) Fouts, nieces, Annalise and Lilly, nephew, Sam, and paternal grandparents Charles (Toby) and Julie Fouts. He also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins and good friends.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00, Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at Alden-Harrington Funeral Home in Bonner Springs, KS. Funeral services will be at 11:00, Thursday, April 6, 2017 at First Baptist Church in Basehor, KS. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St Luke’s Hospice.
