Beatrice Brewer, age 95 of the Lake of The Forest Bonner Springs, KS., passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2017. Visitation will be at 10am, Funeral Service at 11am, on Tuesday, March 21st at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home in Bonner Springs, KS. Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Kansas City, KS. Memorial contributions can be made to Cross Points Church in care of the funeral home.
Bea was born on April 20, 1921 in Clarendon, TX and she spent her childhood traveling between TX and MO with her parents and six siblings as migrant workers, harvesting cotton. After settling in Kansas City, she began working at The Leader, an upscale clothier, where she enjoyed her work as a floor manager. Bea married Kenneth W. Brewer in 1968 and together they enjoyed living at the Lake of the Forest and their time spent with family at the Lake of the Ozarks. Bea and Ken loved to travel, bowling, playing cards and she enjoyed sewing, needlework, reading and spending time with family. Bea was preceded in death by her husband Ken, daughter Karen Payne, son Larry McEvers, and her parents and six siblings. Survivors include three daughters; JoAnn Law, Kathe Nolting and her husband JR, and Jeanne Moore and her husband Larry, one son; Rick Brewer and his wife Susan, 14 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
