Sharon Kay McCarthy, age 58, of Kansas City, MO. passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2017. Visitation 1-3pm, Memorial Service 3pm, Monday, Jan. 23, at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home.

She was born on May 11, 1958 in Sacramento California. She was a strong loving mother and grandmother. She loved to help anyone in need, she enjoyed her time working at Marvin’s Midtown Chiropractic. She was a strong woman with thick skin, that made everyone smile. She shared a special bond with her brothers and sisters like no other. She was proceeded in death by her mother Ilene Murphy; father Loyd Murphy; sisters, Donna Murphy; brothers; Eugene, Wayne, and Donald Murphy; granddaughter Brionna Paige Shelton.

She is survived by four children; Savannah Shelton (James), Ashley Emrick (Josh), Jeremy Murphy (Corinne), and Dennis Murphy (Jessica). She is also survived by eleven grandchildren; Alexander, Thomas, and Alli Murphy; Marcos, Preston, Andrew, and Robyn Murphy, James, and Jenna Shelton, and Joseph “JoJo”, and Keegan Emrick, and many nieces and nephews that she loved very much. Sharon was also survived by two brothers and 4 sisters; Larry Murphy (Shirley), Paul Murphy (Kim), Barbara Grego (Ron), Shirley VanLeuvan, RoseMary Davis, and Deanie Kerr.
