Frances G. Tinberg, 95, Longtime resident of Bonner Springs, KS passed away on Sat., Nov. 19, 2016 at her home. Friends may call at the Visitation from 4 to 7 pm, Tue., Nov. 22, Rosary Service 7 pm at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Funeral Mass will be 10:30 am, Wed., Nov. 23, also at the Sacred Heart Church (Johnson Dr. and Monticello Rd. in Shawnee, KS.) burial will follow in the Bonner Springs Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Church or to the Sisters Servants of Mary both in care of the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home.
Frances was born on Aug. 29, 1921 in Olathe, KS and was the second of three children born to William and Grace (Brown) Leeker. She graduated from Olathe High School in 1939 and had worked at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant in Lake City, MO during the war. Frances worked as a secretary for Savior of the World Seminary for 20 years retiring in 1990 and then worked as a Church Secretary for Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church until 2007. She was a longtime active member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, it’s Altar Society and the Legion of Mary. She was also active in various school activities when her sons were young. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 57 years Otis Tinberg in 2000 and two sons; Michael Tinberg in 1981 and Larry Tinberg in 1996, one sister; Josephine Brown and one brother; Bernard Leeker. She is survived by her son Steve Tinberg and his wife Telesa of Basehor, KS. A daughter-in-law Jean Tinberg of Overland Park, KS. 8 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-granddaughters and a host of nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends
