Years ago at our 10 year class reunion I chatted with Larry he said something that I remember to this day. He said" you know Dickie I have a lot of respect for you being in the Marine Corps. You give up so much." Well of course I was thankful of his comment and I told him that I had it easy really compared to him because I was guaranteed a pay check a place to sleep and if I stay in good benefits when  i retire, and he was the one I respected because in a job in civilian life nothing is promised because they can close the doors tomorrow. Larry's obituary has is right, Larry thought of others before himself. Good Night my friend and God Bless I always remember your respect you had for others.
