Obituary for Marian L. Amrein

Marian L.  Amrein
Marian L. Amrein, age 93 of Bonner Springs, Kansas and previously of Kansas City, Kansas passed away on Saturday, May 7, 2016. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 5 :00 p.m., Rosary at 5:00 p.m. followed by the Mass at 5:30 pm, all on Thursday, May 12, at the Holy Angels Catholic Church in Basehor, KS. Private Family entombment to follow at a later date in the Gate of Heaven Mausoleum in Kansas City, KS.

Marian was born on January 31, 1923 in Kansas City Missouri. She graduated from Westport High School and studied at the Sarachon Hooley Business College. After the war, she married Arthur H. Amrein and together they made their home in Kansas City, Kansas and later Bonner Springs. She had worked as a clerk in the records department at the University of Kansas Medical Center and was the secretary-treasurer of the ladies auxiliary of the Union Pacific Railroad Locomotive Engineers, the secretary of the Kansas State Horse Show Circuit (KSHSC), Secretary of the NE Kansas Quarter Horse Association, secretary and bookkeeper at Butler Accounting and Associates, Horse show manager for Amrein Quarter Horse Shows and a Providence Medical Center Volunteer for 20 years. Marian enjoyed ceramics, painting, playing cards, gardening, canning, taking care of her animals and spending time with her family at their lake home.
Marian was preceded in death by her husband Arthur H. Amrein, Jr. in October of 1996, one brother Bud Meyers, and one grandson Keith Marvin.
Survivors include her son John T. Amrein and his wife Brenda S., granddaughter Lauren T. and grandson John T. all of Bonner Springs. Granddaughter; Heather Rood Dufourmantelle and her sons Alex and Lucus (both great-grandsons), daughter Darlene Bowen and husband Mike of Winfield, KS and their son Kevin Marvin.
