Obituary for Wm. Clif Armstrong

Wm. Clif  Armstrong
Wm Clif Armstrong, age 63, of DeSoto, Kansas passed away on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at his home while surrounded by his family. Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 14th at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Monticello Union Cemetery in Shawnee, KS. The family will receive friends at a visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday evening also at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the DeSoto VFW Post #6654 or the American Diabetes Association, both in care of the funeral home.

Cilf was born on November 4th, 1952 in Mississippi, the oldest of two sons born to J.C. & Chris (Kennedy) Armstrong. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era. Clif was a gifted Certified Welder working for RO Corporation in Olathe, KS. before opening his own shop, Precision Welding in Wellsville, KS. He had also been a Printing Press Operator at Vestcom in New Century where he had obtained two Patents for the company. Clif was an avid Deer Hunter with several trophies that he proudly displayed in his home. Besides being a hunter, he was a fan of Oklahoma University and Nascar, Jeff Gordon and Jimmy Johnson were his favorite drivers. Clif was also a master of absolutely terrible jokes and puns.

Clif was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Mary Armstrong of the home. Three children; Jayson Armstrong and wife Katie of Ellis, KS., William K. Armstrong of DeSoto, KS., and Brianna “Breezy” Hunt and husband George of Leavenworth, KS., four grandchildren; Piper Hunt, Jaymes Armstrong, Paisley Hunt and August Sinclair. One brother; Kenneth Armstrong and wife Darlene of Ottawa, KS., as well as nieces, nephews, extended family and several very close friends that he considered close family.
