Alice Katherine Nusbaum, 74, of Edwardsville, KS passed away on Tuesday, December 4, 2012. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm, Sat., Dec. 8, at the Popkess Mortuary in Sabetha, KS with burial to follow in the Bern Cemetery in Bern, KS. Friends may call at the visitation from 6 to 8 pm, Fri., Dec. 7, at the Alden – Harrington Funeral Home in Bonner Springs, KS and from 1 to 2 pm prior to the service on Sat., Dec. 8, at the Popkess Mortuary in Sabetha, KS.
Mrs. Nusbaum was born Nov. 8, 1938 in Seneca, KS the daughter of Ralph and Emma Koch. She loved being a farm girl as she was growing up and loved horses especially. She married young at 16 years old and started her own family at the age of 17 as a military wife. After having lived in many places they retired back to the Sebatha, KS area after the military , and later moved to the Kansas City area. She loved to read and did a lot of crafts over the years. She had a green thumb for all her indoor plants, but her biggest interest was her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years Truman Nusbaum in 2010, one son-in-law Keith Null in 1989 and one grandson Tim Kloss in 1992. And is survived by her 3 daughters Debra Kloss and her husband Edward of Hiawatha, KS; Terry Klapmeyer also of Hiawatha, KS; and Dixie Brown and husband Jon of Turner, KS. 7 Grandchildren, 12 Great Grandchildren and one great grandchild on the way.
