Millard Opal Burns, age 93, of Bonner Springs, KS. passed away on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at the Morningside Place in Overland Park, KS. Graveside Funeral Service will be Noon, Saturday, May 20 at the Bonner Springs Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Morningside Place, an Anthem memory care community.
Millard was born on March 10, 1924 in Hope, Arkansas. He married his wife Martha Lou (McBay) Burns on Sept. 20, 1947, in Arkansas. Millard had worked at the Kansas City Power & Light as a Tree Trimmer, retiring in 1986. During WWII, Millard served in the U.S. Air Corp. He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Lou Burns in 2001. Survivors include his one daughter; Gloria Jean Burns of Westwood, KS., two granddaughters; Brandi DeFoor and husband Mark of Overland Park, KS. and Ali Malcolm of Leawood, KS. three great-granddaughters; Taylor, Emily & Carson DeFoor.
