Gary E. Davis, Sr., age 64, of Edwardsville, KS., passed away on Sunday, September 25, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Thurs., Sept. 29, at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home in Bonner Springs, KS with burial to follow in the Bonner Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends at a visitation from 6 to 8 p.m., Wed. evening, Sept. 28th also at the funeral home.
Gary was born on March 20, 1952 in Richmond, IN. and has lived in the Kansas City area for over 40 years. He was a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran and was an avid racer and had raced Stock Cars and Late Models since 1988. Gary was an official at numerous local tracks in the past and was an employee of Lakeside Speedway. He was also a Harley Davidson enthusiast and loved to ride. Gary truly loved his Bulldogs and has been the proud owner of many. He was preceded in death by his mother Emma Jean Mills and grandson Kaelob Mize. Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Vicki Davis of the home, three children; Suni Kilburn of Springfield, MO., Joey Mize of Paola, KS and Gary Davis, Jr. of Irvine, CA., his father Georgie Davis, seven brothers; Steven Davis, Robert Davis, Don Davis, George Davis, Jr., Willie Davis, Gil Wilson and Jonathan Wilson, three sisters; Peggy Sawyer, Patricia Quiroz and Kim Gracey, and five grandchildren; Jarred, Kaelie, Joe, Darien and Dustyn.
