Ron was born on January 24, 1940 in Saronville, Nebraska the third of four children born to William and Dorothy Miller. Ron grew up in Lincoln, NE., graduating high school and attended college there. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1958 to 1961 and after he began his career as a truck driver. In August of 1964 he married Marie J. Moore, and after being offered a job in Kansas they moved to Bonner Springs where they raised their family, Kay, Shireen and Mitchell. Being a truck driver allowed him to travel all over the country, which he then shared with his family on their vacations. Ron enjoyed spending time with his family, spending time at his home on the Lake of the Ozarks, dancing with Marie and deer camp with his family and friends. He served on the board at the First Christian Church and was active in the Bonner Springs Lions Club. Ron was good with his hands and was known for being able to fix just about anything.
