Obituary for William Earl "Willie" Winston

William “Willie” Earl Winston, 56, of Edwardsville, KS. & prev. of KC,KS., passed away on Monday, Oct. 15, 2018. Visitation 9:30-11am followed by the Funeral service beginning at 11am, Sat., Oct. 20, at Alden-Harrington Funeral Home, burial Bonner Springs Cemetery.
William (Willie) Earl Winston was born January 15, 1962 and departed his life on Monday, October 15, 2018. He was born to James A. Winston and Gurthie R. Winston, and was the youngest of their seven children. William attended the Kansas City, Kansas Public Schools and graduated from Schlagle High School. He loved sports especially the Kansas Jayhawks and KC Chiefs. William was a loving and caring person who loved to make people laugh. His favorite hobby was detailing cars to perfection. Later he married Kara Bartee. William was employed at Liberty Fruit Co. Inc. for 10 years as a local truck driver. William accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of First Baptist Church in Quindaro, he later attended Christ First Ministries as a member. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Debra Winston, and a step son Jessie Bartee. He leaves behind his wife Kara Winston of the home, five daughters of Kansas City, KS, Shayla Winston, Nicole Wertacet, Danielle Wertacet, Meaghan Wetacet, Isabel Winston, one son; Arron Lewis, four sisters; Alice Williams of Raytown MO, Bobbie Jones, Brenda Winston, Ella Mae Winston all of Kansas City, KS, one brother James Winston of Wichita, KS, 15 grandchildren, one great grandchild, one step daughter Emily Bartee, one step-son Justin Griffin and a host of relatives, nieces, nephews and many friends.
