Obituary for William David "Bill" Trower

William David Trower

William “Bill” David Trower, age 88, of Basehor, Kansas passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 26th, 2021. A Visitation will be from 2 to 4pm Sat. Nov. 6th at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home, followed by a Celebration of His Life at the Harrington Family Event Center, 218 Oak St. Bonner Springs (Next to the Funeral Home). Burial to follow at a later date in the Glenwood Cemetery in Basehor.

Bill was born on November 12, 1932 at his family’s home in Kansas City, Kansas. He grew up in Kansas City, KS attending schools there until he enlisted in the U.S. Navy at the age of 17 where he obtained his GED. Bill retired from the Kansas City Star where he was a Lithographer. He was a lifelong lover of Quarter Horses, hauling his AQHA Show Horses all over the United States while making friends as far as Canada

Bill was preceded in death by his parents Weldon “Jack” & Ruby Trower, Sr., two brothers Weldon “Louis” Trower, Jr. and Richard “Dick” Trower, previous wife Patty Jo Smith, and his wife of 48 years Shirley Trower.

Survivors include his brothers Robert Trower and his wife Julie of Shawnee, KS., James Trower of Basehor, KS., sister Sharon Robinson and her husband Keith of Bucyrus, KS., son David Trower and his wife June of Tonganoxie, KS., daughter Brenda Salsbury and her husband Phil of Topeka, KS. grandson Travis Trower and his wife Becky of Basehor, KS., three great-granddaughters Katey, Madyson and Jenna, one great-great-granddaughter Tatum, granddaughter Lindsey York and her husband Kirk of Topeka, KS., great-grandson Harrison and great-granddaughter Hazel.
