It was a pleasure to know Dave Isley (“Doc”). It was he that first gave me an employment opportunity while I was on summer break during my first year of college back in 1984. I honestly did not have a clue of what kind of gig I was getting but I truly thought it was a job working at a doctor’s office. I’m blessed to say that 35 years later, I’m still employed at that doctor’s office that I now know as DR. VINYL. For that I will always be grateful to Doc. I have a lot of great memories of him. Doc was very well respected throughout the Dr. Vinyl system and will be missed by many. He is a legend in his own way and his legacy “Dr. Vinyl” is still going strong. My deepest sympathy to Marcia and the entire family. Dave will be missed by all whose life he touched.

Dave was a true visionary as founder and guiding light of Dr. Vinyl. I was fortunate enough to follow in his footsteps as CEO of the company but certainly never felt as though I had filled his shoes. I admired him more than he probably knew.

As too often happens, we lost touch after these many years, but Dr. Vinyl was a pinnacle for both Dave and myself.

One quick story: I was sitting in my office one day, probably five or more years after I had purchased the company from Dave and Marcia. I see someone walking across the parking lot on his with jet black hair. It looks like Dave Isley but certainly couldn't be! Dave was well past any jet black hair days. But sure enough, it was Dave. He had thought he would darken his hair a little and went well beyond a little. But he laughed it off as just one more life experience to share and enjoy with others.

I know he will be sorely missed by all his many friends and family. It was a privilege to know and be friends with Dave Isley.
