Obituary for Tara L. Lee

Tara Leita (Broockerd) Lee, age 50, of McLouth, Kansas passed away on July 5, 2021 at her home. A visitation will be 5-7pm, followed by a Celebration of Tara’s life at 7pm, both Tuesday, July 20th at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home, in Bonner Springs, KS. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Tara Lee Memorial Fund at the Union State Bank in McLouth.

Tara was born on October 22, 1970 in Lexington, Kentucky. She was raised in Overland Park and Olathe, Kansas and graduated from Olathe North High School in the Class of 1989, where she played on the high school softball team as a catcher. Tara raised her son Roger Joseph “RJ” Kramer in Springhill, KS. On March 26, 2011 she married Brian Lee and for the last four years they lived near McLouth where they have raised their daughter, Dani Shea Lee. Tara grew up bowling and was very active at Olathe Lanes East where she had won several leagues and championships. It was through bowling that she met her husband Brian. As her children grew she was very involved in their sports. When Dani became more active in softball, Tara became a “Softball Mom” and volunteered for PSA Softball, handling all of the scheduling for lessons and was truly the head "softball mom" for the organization. She could always be found, every weekend, behind a backstop somewhere recording and taking pictures of Dani and her teammates.

Tara was preceded in death by her mother Maxine Hart, father-in-law Rolla Lee, paternal grandparents Jim & Leita Broockerd. Survivors include her husband Brian Lee and their daughter Dani of the home, son RJ Kramer and fiancée Libby Daniels and their children Lexis, Cohen, Case and Leland. Father Larry Broockerd and wife Deb, sister Jess Broockerd, brother Carl Lee Broockerd and sister Tina Starkey, brother-in-law’s Jason & Greg Lee and sister-in-law, Sarah Lee. As well as several nieces, nephews, extended family and many, many friends.
