Obituary for Susie Ryan
Susie “Sue” Ryan, age 91, of Basehor, Kansas passed away on Monday, Oct. 24, 2022. Visitation will be Noon-1pm, funeral to follow at 1pm, both Tuesday, November 1st, 2022 at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home. Burial to follow in the Glenwood Cemetery in Basehor. Memorial Contributions can be made to the Cancer Treatment Centers of America.
Sue was born on March 8th, 1931 in Kaw City, Oklahoma to John & Lucille (Cooper) Ballah. She married George Ridenour in May of 1951 and to this union two sons were born, Jeffrey and David.
Sue was married to Robert Ryan in 1998, no children were born to this marriage. She was a member of the Retail Clerks Union #782 for 21 years, and was also a member of the Wyandotte County Art Association. Sue worked for Hallmark Card Company as well as Justrite Super Market, Friendly Thriftway before retiring in 1978. She enjoyed Traveling, Casinos and especially playing pool with her very good friend and companion Frank Payne. In their Travels, Sue and Frank have gone to Hawaii, Alaska and Canada. Sue had traveled to 36 of the United States and Mexico.
Survivors include her two sons: Jeffrey Ridenour and his wife Linda of Apache Junction, Arizona and David Ridenour and his wife Susan of Basehor. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren and one sister-in-law, Monya Ballah. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Charles “Daniel” Ballah and Johnny Ballah.
