Obituary for Susan Gail Amego (Griffin)

Susan Gail Griffin Amego, 70, of Leavenworth, KS passed away on Thursday, August 12, 2021 at the Promise Hospital of Overland Park. Her family will receive friends at a visitation from 9 to 11 am, and the Funeral will be at 11 am, both on Tue., Aug. 17, at the Stony Point Christian Church in Kansas City, KS. Burial to follow at 2:00 pm, in the Silent City Cemetery in De Soto, KS. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Stony Point Christian Christian Church. Susan was born on March 28, 1951 in Memphis, TN and grew up in several small towns across Kansas as her father was a Teacher and Principal. Later while attending School in De Soto she met her future husband Steve. Susan graduated from Shawnee Mission North High School in 1969 and a few weeks later they were married and then raised their family in the Kansas City, KS area. Susan worked for 41 years at the University of Kansas Medical Center as a Data Processor, retiring in 2013. She and her husband have been long time members of Stony Point Christian Church for over forty years. Susan had a lifelong passion for arts and crafts being very accomplished in Painting, Stitching and Sewing she also loved reading a lot, enjoying good books through the years. She was preceded in death by her parents Roland and Gail Griffin and her older sister Barbara Griffin. And is survived by her husband of 52 years Steve Amego of the home, two sons Daniel Amego of Jefferson City, MO and William Amego of Edwardsville, KS. One brother Fred Griffin and his wife Connie of Overland Park, KS and two grandchildren Hunter and Laurel Amego.
