Shirley Jean Lewis, age 90, passed away at home on Friday, May 8, 2020, surrounded by family. Shirley was born November 2, 1929 in Kansas City, KS, daughter of Robert and Agatha McBee. Shirley was born and raised in Kansas City. She attended Wyandotte High School and married her husband of 59 years, Walter Jay Lewis, in 1948. Shirley and Walter raised their three children Robert, Paula, and Mark in Kansas City. They later moved to Tonganoxie, KS to enjoy country living. She enjoyed sports, traveling, reading and knitting. Shirley was preceded in by her husband, Walter Lewis, and sister Virginia Moran, her parents Bob and Agatha, and daughter-in-law Connie Lewis. Survivors include her children, Mark (Susan) Lewis of Linwood, Paula (John) Zubeck of Leawood and Robert Lewis of Basehor. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Private family services will be held at the Alden - Harrington Funeral Home in Bonner Springs with burial to follow in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Kansas City, KS. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Disabled American Veterans.
