Obituary for Scott Allen Halsey
Scott “Scooter” Allen Halsey, age 62, of Linwood, Kansas passed away on Sunday, March 17th, 2024 surrounded by family and friends at his home.
Scott was born on September 18th, 1961 in Kansas City, Missouri, and was one of eight children born to Bobby & Ethel (Wolf) Halsey. Known as the “Big 8" they all remained close throughout his life. He was raised in Raytown and graduated from Raytown South High School in the Class of 1979. He began his lifelong career at UPS after graduation and retired from there as a “Professional Driver” in 2017. Scott met Teresa in 1988 and married her in 1996, taking on three children. He became a father, a coach, a mentor, and much more. Scott had many passions throughout his life including Karate, Hunting, Coaching Football, constructing haunted trails, and above all riding his motorcycles. After moving to the country, he really loved taking care of their land which included his fish ponds and bike trails. One of Scott’s favorite family traditions was the annual Wolf-Halsey Apple Butter Cookout. He loved dancing and playing guitar, music was always a passion of his.
Scott was preceded in death by his father Bobby Halsey, mother Ethel L. Halsey Cornell, stepfather Kenny Cornell and a nephew Dwayne Davis.
Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Teresa Halsey of the home, three children Amber Morris (Billy) of Shawnee, Candice Morris (Jeremy) of Linwood, Ks., and Brent Romig (Samantha) of Kansas City, KS., twelve grandchildren: Paige, Haylee, Aubrie, Jax, Lincoln, Bentley, Landon, Jordan, Mariah, Hunter, Nevaeh, and Brenten. His siblings: David Halsey (Julie), Wanda Harris (Dave), Trenna Hayes (Randy), Donna Davis, George Halsey (Delene), Terri Fennelly (Don), and Craig Halsey (Lisa) as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Visitation will be 11am to 1pm, Saturday, March 23rd with the Funeral Service beginning at 1pm, both at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home, 214 Oak St., Bonner Springs, KS. 66012
