Obituary for Sandra Louise Galletly

Sandra Louise “Sandy” Galletly, age 74, of Tonganoxie, Kansas went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ while surrounded by her family and beloved cat “Rusty”, on April 23, 2022.
Sandy was born on May 22, 1947 in Klamath Falls, Oregon. She grew up in Kansas City, Kansas and graduated from Wyandotte High School. Sandy was a Bus Driver for many years in the Piper School District. She had also worked at Sun Savings Bank, Collard Chevrolet and worked at her two daughters Daycares where she helped raise many children.
Sandy was a faithful Christian woman that truly enjoyed her flower and vegetable garden. She was a very loving and giving mother that supported all her children’s activities through school and 4-H. Sandy did everything, from being a room mother, hosting 4-H events and meetings, judging contests and cattle shows, or just having a house full of her children’s friends over, She never said “no” to that! Friends and family was where it was! Sandy raised her daughters to be compassionate, loving and hard working women who could stand on their own two feet, and she always had their back. Sandy so enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Chester & Mary Brown, brother Stan Brown, niece Danielle Brown, and a granddaughter Forest Paige Duncan.
Survivors include her loving daughters Christy Hardwick (Kevin), Tessie Brandt (Jeff Smith), Carrlie Volkman (Doug), grandchildren: Nikki (Jeremiah), Kaitlyn (AJ), Kylie (Austin), Colton. Great-grandchildren: Wyatt, Lane, Rhett, and Aspyn. Niece Mindy and great-nephew Bryce.
Her family is planning a Private Burial in the Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens Cemetery. In Lieu of Flowers her family requests donations to be made in Sandy’s name to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
