Obituary for Ruth LaVon Crane

Ruth M. Crane
Ruth LaVon Marshall Crane, age 90, of Kansas City, Kansas passed away on Friday, April 14th, 2023 at her home. Visitation will be 9 am – 9:30 am, with a Rosary being said at 9:30 am, Funeral Mass Service will begin at 10 am on Friday, April 21st, at the St. Rose Philippine Duchesne Catholic Church (5035 Rainbow Blvd., Mission Woods, KS. 66205) Memorial Contributions can be made to the St. Rose Philippine Duchesne Catholic Church Building Fund.

Ruth was born on September 11th, 1932 in Kansas City, Kansas, and was one of six children born to John “Walt” & Ruth (Sewell) Marshall. She grew up in Kansas City, Kansas, and graduated from Bishop Ward High School in the Class of 1950. Ruth spent most of her career in the Dental field and most recently worked for Dr. Hartman’s office in Bonner Springs. She was a lifelong member of the Catholic Church and was recently attending St. Rose Philippine Duchesne Parrish. Ruth was a hardworking and loving mother and was proud to have raised three children on her own.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and three brothers: John Jr., Ervin, and Patrick Marshall. One sister Mary Lou Malinowski, and her husband William Crane.

Survivors include her three children: Mark S. Klaproth of Mound City, Kansas, Michael J. Klaproth and wife Thuy of Parkville, MO., Kathy J. Gomer and husband Greg of Belton, MO., seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, one sister Sue Domann and husband Dennis of Winchester, KS., as well as numerous, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
