Ruth Maureen Cash, 88, of Fair Play, MO went home to be with the Lord on December 19, 2021 at the Evergreen Community of Johnson County Nursing Home. Ruth was born June 1, 1933 in Hardin, MO to William and Elsa (Pesel) Templeton. She married John William Cash on June 8, 1951. Ruth loved rollerskating, gardening, crocheting and spending time with family and friends. Ruth was a homemaker. She was head cook at Basehor Grade School for three years. And for many years she babysit with grandkids and the Anderson boys. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband John W. Cash, her parents William and Elsa Templeton, one brother William Templeton and three sisters Francis Williams, Dorothy Wallace and Elvina Herwig. Ruth is survived by two children John Cash, Jr. and his wife Kim of Spring Hill, KS and Joyce Jones and her husband Larry of Bonner Springs, KS. One sister Rose Easton and her husband Bob, five grandchildren Ronald Glitten and his wife Leslie, Tammy Cain, Joshua Cash and his wife Felicia, Jeannie Young and her husband Anthony, and Jacob Cash. Ruth has 21 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. Family funeral services are planned for a later date with committal to follow in Glenwood Cemetery near Basehor, KS. The services will be broadcast on Facebook. The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.
