Obituary for Ruby L. Dunham

Ruby Luella Dunham, age 83, of Lawson, Missouri passed away on Friday, June 11th, 2021 at Lawson Manor Terrace Nursing Home. Visitation will be 10-11am followed by the Funeral at 11am, both Thursday, June 17th at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home. Burial in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Kansas City, Kansas. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to Three Rivers Hospice in care of the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home.
Ruby was born on August 25, 1937 in Kansas City, Missouri and was the eldest of two daughters born to Walter & Hazel (Stookey) Pflaum. She graduated from Turner High School and later obtained her Master’s Degree in Education from Missouri Western State University. Ruby’s passion was art and she had attended art classes at Kansas State University. Her favorite style was painting in Oil, Chaulk, and Watercolors. Ruby also loved flowers and enjoyed growing them in her Flower Gardens over the years. She had worked for several years at Lee Jeans in Merriam, KS and later at Cooks Paint in North Kansas City and Glad Rents in Gladstone, MO.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents and one granddaughter Amy Sue Dunham.
Survivors include her three sons: Bert P.L. Dunham and wife Donna Kay of Tonganoxie, KS., David E. Dunham of Tonganoxie, KS. and Kevin S. Dunham and wife Lorrie A. of Kansas City, MO.
Her sister Pauline Dille of Kansas City, MO., seven grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren with one on the way. Ruby loved all of her grandchildren and sewing all kinds of things for them.
