RoseAnna “Rosie” Edmondson Withers

RoseAnna “Rosie” Edmondson Withers passed away 1 day short of her 95th birthday on Monday, May 31, 2021, at Somerford Place in Newark, DE.
She was the daughter of the late Edwin and Vinetta (Poggemeyer) Yunghans. RoseAnna was primarily a mother/homemaker, but also spent many years as the cook for Mission and Piper Elementary Schools in Kansas. She lived in Piper, KS for 89 years, before moving to Delaware to be closer to her son. RoseAnna loved to travel and visited 49 of the 50 states.
Everyone who met her always commented that she was the sweetest person they had met. RoseAnna was always kind and complimentary to everyone she interacted with. Her giving of thanks was abundant, and “You are the best, thank you,” was expressed many times daily.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Somerford Place, where RoseAnna lived for the last six years, for the love and support they provided.
In addition to her parents, RoseAnna was preceded in death by her husbands, Art Edmondson (40 years) and Harold Withers (26 years); brother, Don Yunghans; sisters, Betty Miller and Evelyn Miller; and daughter, Juanita Lowe. She is survived by her brother, Bob Yunghans; son, Jim Edmondson; numerous grandchildren; great grandchildren; and great great grandchildren.
Visitation and Funeral Services will be from 9 to 11, and 11 am on Monday, June 7, 2021 at the Alden - Harrington Funeral Home in Bonner Springs, KS and burial will follow in Maywood Community Church Cemetery in Kansas City, KS, where RoseAnna will be laid to rest beside her late husband, Art.
