Rodger Green

Rodger Warren Green, 80, of the Piper area of Kansas City, Kansas passed away on Monday, January 25th 2021 due to complications of Covid 19. Rodger was born June 30, 1940 in Kansas City, Kansas to Fred and Ruth (Wall) Green. He was a machinist and mechanic for Rock Island Railroad from 1960-1980 and this inspired his love of trains. He was a power house mechanic at Board of Public Utilities from 1980 until he retired in 2003. Rodger enjoyed boating at the Lake of the Ozarks, loved going to the farm, traveling to Colorado, taking pictures of family and friends, spending time with his grandkids and playing hamburger catch, and repairing all things, broken or not! Roger is preceded in death by his parents Fred and Ruth Green. He leaves behind his beloved wife Marcella of 60 years, 3 sons: Brian (Cheryl), Stephen (Holly), Kyle (Jena), 5 grandkids: Andrew, Dylan, Taylor, Alex, and Kylie and his precious dog Princess.

Graveside services will be held Monday, February 1, 2021 at 1:30 at Gate of Heaven Cemetery 12700 Parallel Parkway, Kansas City, KS
