Robert H. “Buster” Fouts
Robert H. “Buster” Fouts, age 95, of Louisburg, Kansas and previously of Bonner Springs, KS passed away on Thursday, July 1, 2021 at home surrounded by his loving family.
Buster was born September 11, 1925 to James Sr and Lenora (Brust) Fouts on his family’s farm in Tonganoxie, Kansas. He had two step brothers, Charles and James Jr. Buster served in the US Army and the Merchant Marines during World War II. He owned and operated Fouts Trucking in Muncie, KS for many years. His success is directly attributed to his 365 days a year work ethic, with his loving wife, Thelma, by his side. Over the years, Buster enjoyed pheasant and quail hunting, trap shooting and tending to cattle with son Kevan. Throughout his life he kept a keen eye on the stock market, checking the prices of farm commodities and the rise and fall of silver and gold. After retiring, Buster enjoyed spending time with family and friends in Florida. He especially loved to watch the boats and the activity at the Coast Guard station from his recliner, binoculars in hand with his beloved dog “Bullet” by his side. An evening in Florida wasn’t complete without a visit to Smokin’ Oyster Brewery for shrimp or grouper along with the all-star treatment he received.
He was preceded in death by his parents, step brothers Charles and James “Doc” Fouts, wife Thelma M. (Scheidt) Fouts, and step son Larry W. Malone.
