Obituary for Robert E. "Bob" Burdine

Robert E. Burdine

Robert “Bob” Eugene Burdine, age 82, of Shawnee, KS and previously of Bonner Springs, KS, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2019 at the Olathe Hospice House. On Wednesday, Aug. 21st, the family will receive friends at a visitation from 6:00-7:00 p.m., followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 7:00 p.m., both at Basehor United Methodist Church. Private interment will be on Saturday, August 24th in the Jasper Cemetery in Jasper, AR.
Bob was born on August 14, 1937 in Jasper, Arkansas, the youngest of two children born to Guy & Gladys (Harp) Burdine. He grew up in the Jasper area and graduated from Jasper High School. He went on to attain his teaching degree from the University of Central Arkansas. Bob then moved to the Kansas City area where he taught and drove a school bus for the Piper School District. Having always been drawn to the outdoors, he began farming for Stafos Farms, and later started farming for himself in the Edwardsville/Bonner Springs area. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, and in 2005, his longtime companion Euteva Villines. Survivors include his daughter Denise Cook of Turner, KS, stepdaughter Angie Bohndorf (Jared) of Shawnee, KS, four grandchildren; Erica Wiseman, Jeffrey Cook, and Lucas & Blake Bohndorf, two great-grandsons; Eric & Luke Robb, one sister Nancy Brasel (Jerry) of Jasper, AR, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
