Obituary for Robert Edward "Bob" Arnold

Robert “Bob” Edward Arnold, 78, of Stover, MO formally of the Kansas City area passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at his home. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM, Thursday evening, March 2, and the Funeral services will be at 11 AM, Friday, March 3, both at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home in Bonner Springs, KS with burial to follow in the Holy Angels Cemetery at 179th and Leavenworth Road near Basehor, KS. There will be a celebration of life following the burial at the Moose Lodge Number 1999 at 6621 Turner Dr. in Kansas City, KS. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Ivy Bend Food Pantry in care of the funeral home. Bob was born March 15, 1944 in Clinton, MO and graduated from Washington High School in Kansas City, KS in 1962. He also attended the Kansas City Vocational Technical School for HVAC and served in the US Navy from 1962 to 1966 on the USS Ranger, stationed in San Francisco, CA where he learned the boilermaker trade in which he worked for 40 years in and around Kansas City and retired from Shawnee Mission Medical Center as a boilermaker. , Bob was a volunteer for the Ivy Bend Food Pantry for the last five years. His hobbies include collecting and restoring antique cars, his favorite of which were the micro cars. Bob was a “lake person” that loved the lake and his boats. He never met a stranger and always put his family first. Bob is proceeded in death by his parents, Robert and Margaret Arnold and his youngest brother Charles Arnold. And is survived by his wife of eight years Lilly Berry-Arnold “Bim” of the home. Four children Dale Hawk, of Titusville, FL; Patrick Arnold of Cape Canaveral, FL; Sonja Kerst and her husband Jeff of Douglasville, GA and Alicia Arnold of Kansas City. One brother Larry Arnold and his wife Judy of Ontario, OH, and a bonus daughter Lesa Salazar and her husband Lalo a Bonner Springs, KS. 11 grandchildren, three great grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends that will miss him greatly.
