Obituary for Perfetto "Pete" Gomez

PERFETTO "PETE" GOMEZ
Perfetto "Pete" Gomez, 87, of Bonner Springs, KS passed away on Wed., Aug. 8, 2018 at his home. Visitation at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home in Bonner Springs, KS from 11:30 to 1 pm, and Graveside Memorial Committal service at the Leavenworth V.A. National Cemetery at 1:30 pm, both on Thurs., Aug. 16. Pete was born April 18, 1931 in Wilder, KS and grew up in the Bonner Springs area graduating from the Bonner Springs High School in 1949, later he served three years in the U.S. Army in the Korean War. He worked for forty years at the sunflower Ordinance Plant in DeSoto, KS as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, he also worked at Inland Cold Storage for ten years as a Diesel Mechanic. He was a Charter Member of the Bonner Springs V.F.W. Post #6401 and was instrumental in establishing the Korean War Memorial. He enjoyed transporting Veterans around in his Deuce and a Half Army Truck in area parades. He is survived by his wife of 48 years Savillia "Trina" Gomez of the home. Two chien Don Stovall of Bonner Springs, KS and Tina Rodriguez and her husband Ray of Overland Park, KS. One brother Joe Gomez of Wilder, KS and three sisters Betty Moore of Wilder, KS, Pauline Umbenhower of Bonner Springs, KS and Bessie Garr of San Diego, CA. Two granddaughters Ashley McNeil and Brittney Stovall.
