Obituary:
In loving memory of Paula Marie Ledgerwood
January 12, 1956 – January 18, 2024
Paula Marie Ledgerwood of Edwardsville, Kansas passed peacefully on January 18, 2024 with family by to her side. Paula was born on January 12, 1956, in Sterling, KS to Paul and Myrtle Ladd. She attended school in Argentine, KS graduating from J.C. Harmon High School in 1974.
Paula was a compassionate, selfless soul who dedicated her life to serving others. She has held multiple jobs throughout her life including Public Safety Dispatcher for the Unified Government of Wyandotte County and Camp Mom at Theodore Naish Scout Reservation for many years.
However, her most notable job was at Hodgdon Powder Company. It was there where she met her beloved husband of 43 years, finding love with Richard Ledgerwood in May,1980. After six weeks they were married in Miami, Oklahoma.
Paula is preceded in death by her father, Paul Ladd Sr., her in-laws Robert and Nelma Ledgerwood, and brother-in-law Eugene R. Ledgerwood. She is survived by her husband Richard W. Ledgerwood Sr., (Mother) Myrtle Ladd, and multiple siblings.
Her legacy lives on through her two wonderful sons Richard Wayne Ledgerwood Jr. and Scotty Ray Ledgerwood. Two beautiful daughter-in-laws Jennifer and Autumn. Four awesome grandkids Braylon Casey, Honor Casey, Ava Ledgerwood, and Abigail Ledgerwood.
Paula will be dearly missed by her sister Peggy (Ray) Pierce, brothers Paul Ladd Jr. and Dale Ladd, along with nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, and cousins. Her memory is also cherished by brother and sister-in-law Keith and Cheryl Craft, sister-in-law Amy Ledgerwood, and their respective families.
Paula's love of service knew no bounds, touching the lives of all in need. May Paula's generous spirit and love for others continue to inspire us all.
