Obituary for Patricia Anne Stoneking
Patricia “Patti” Anne Stoneking, age 67, of Bonner Springs, Kansas went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at her home while surrounded by her loving family. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11:30 am, and the Funeral Service will begin at 11:30 am, both Wednesday, September 6th, 2023 at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home. A family committal will follow in the Bonner Springs Cemetery. In lieu of Flowers, Patti had requested donations to the Kansas State Rifle Association or the Kansas City Hospice.
Patti was born on October 19th, 1955 in Kansas City, Missouri, and was the oldest of two children born to Bob & Joanne (Cowick) Colboch. Patti was raised in Shawnee, Kansas, and graduated from Shawnee Mission Northwest High School in the Class of 1973. She lived for some time in Hawaii where she worked as an Editor at a Newspaper. She absolutely loved living in Hawaii. About a year after returning to the Kansas City area, she was convinced to go on a blind date by her friends. It was on this blind date that she met the love of her life, Bob Stoneking. They married on March 2nd, 1996 and together they made their home in Bonner Springs. Patti became very involved in Shooting Sports and Firearms Training and Gun Rights Legislation. She owned and operated Target Master Shooting Academy for several years, training thousands of people on responsible firearms use, from beginners to Law Enforcement Personnel. Patti is a Past President, In Perpetuity of the Kansas State Rifle Association and was very active with the National Rifle Association, where she recently received their highest honor of Distinguished Advocate Award. In her never-ending support of the 2nd Amendment, Patti became a Lobbyist, serving countless hours advocating for and achieving Concealed Carry rights and later Constitutional Carry rights for her fellow Kansans, an accomplishment that she was very proud of and is sure to be remembered for. Her family would like to thank everyone who has supported her over the years.
Patti was preceded in death by her Parents and one infant daughter Tarah Brianna Meador.
Survivors include her husband Robert “Bob” M. Stoneking, Jr. of the home. One brother Doug Colboch and his wife Carol of Lenexa, KS. Nieces: Dr. Laura Esry, and her husband Michael of Kansas City, MO., Amber Vandegrift and her husband Jared of Gardner, KS. Nephews: Jason Stoneking and wife Christy of Topeka, KS., and Joel Pasley of Kansas City, MO. As well as several other extended family, many, many friends, and loyal canine Kai.
