Obituary for Patricia Ann Johnson

On January 29th, 2021, Patricia Ann Johnson, loving mother of three, grandmother of eight and great grandmother of one, passed away peacefully at the age of 79, with her family by her side.
Patricia was born December 31st, 1941 in Utica, Kansas, to Robert James and Alma Margaret (Brown) Witman. She was preceded in death by husband Wilfred Clarence Johnson, father Robert James Witman, mother Alma Margaret Witman, sister Shirley Lenora Witman, and niece Terra Dawn Wendel.
Pat grew up on a farm in Garden City, Kansas, where she graduated from Holcomb High School and went on to attend Colby Community College. After her marriage to Wilfred Johnson in 1962, she started her family with the birth of her daughter Stephanie, in Garden City, Kansas. Following Stephanie’s birth, the family moved to Goodland, Kansas, where her two sons, Stephen and Timothy were born. During Pat’s time in Goodland, she served her community as the first female city council member and worked with her husband Wilfred to start a small family-owned business. In 1979, the family moved to Dodge City, Kansas, where Pat lived for more than two decades and worked as a Realtor, a book keeper, and managed her own professional income tax service. Later in life, Pat lived in Knoxville, TN, Linwood, KS and most recently, Plant City, FL.
Pat loved quilting, knitting, baking, and cooking. Most importantly, she loved being a mother to her children and being Meemaw to her grandchildren and her great grandson.
Pat had a strong Christian faith and values forged by a wholesome life lived mostly on the plains of Kansas. She was an exceptionally strong mother, grandmother, wife, sister and daughter. Knowing her is to know true compassion, courage, perseverance, resilience, independence and most importantly love. Our family will forever be filled with loving memories and will always be comforted by the thought of her loving embrace. She will be missed dearly.
Pat is survived by her two sisters Kathy Wendel and Bonnie Knoll and spouse Rick Knoll, and her three children and their spouses, 8 grandchildren and one great grandchild which include: Stephanie and Tony Cecere, Stephen and Kim Johnson and Timothy and Renee Johnson, and grandchildren Kyra Lange and spouse Aleks Lange, Josh Wendler, Wyatt Johnson, Emery Johnson, Matthew and Lindsey Johnson, Garrett and Andrew Zook, and her great-grandson, Leo Wilfred Lange.
A private memorial graveside service and celebration of life will be held at a later date. Condolences may be sent to and more information found at www.aldenharrington.com.
