Pat Ray Thrasher, age 84, of DeSoto, Kansas passed away on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at his home. Visitation will be Noon-1:00pm, Thursday, Dec. 30th at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home. Graveside Funeral Service will follow at 1:30pm at Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens Cemetery in Shawnee, KS.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Susan G. Komen Cancer Foundation.
Pat was born on March 28, 1937 in Oklahoma and was one of 12 children born to J.C. & Goldie Thrasher. He was raised on his family’s farm near Ozark, Arkansas. He and his brothers came to this area in the late 1950’s and early 1960’s looking for work. Pat became a Heavy Equipment Operator for the Local #101 and worked for many local construction companies in the Kansas City area. In the 1970’s, he started his own trucking company that continues still today. Pat married Patricia A. Thrasher on June 27th, 1968, she preceded him in death on April 4, 2004. He was also preceded in death by his parents, five siblings, and his girlfriend Sharon Plum.
Survivors include his two sons: Timothy R. Thrasher and his wife Jamie and Patrick C. Thrasher and his wife Lindsay all of DeSoto, KS., six siblings: Ann, Allen, Betty, Fred, Jackie and H.B. as well as a host of extended family and friends.
