Norman Dale Breuer, 86, of Basehor Kansas died peacefully on August 1, 2022, surrounded by his family with his girls reminiscing and telling tales. Dale was born on June 11, 1936 in Napoleon, Missouri. The son of David and Dora Breuer. The family eventually moved to the Bonner/Basehor area. He graduated from Basehor High School in 1954.
Dale was drafted and served in the peace time Army from 1959 to 1961. He was stationed in Germany building bridges and roads.
He and Anna Jean were married in Basehor at the Methodist Church in December of 1962.
He spent most of his life as a Teamster over the road truck driver. Retiring in 1994 from GNB Battery Company in Leavenworth, Kansas
Dale enjoyed drilling water wells, restoring antique cars, Oliver tractors, midget car races and spending time with “the boys”, the sons of his three brothers. He loved a good “half” cup of HOT coffee while eating sugar cookies, a peanut butter “foldie” and “tid-bits”.
He was a member of the Basehor Lions Club and The Henry Leavenworth Model A Club. He was Basehor’s first police judge and was instrumental in getting the sidewalk built from the fire station to the high school.
He spoiled his family with many trips to the lake. Even one time “stealing” a boat. He always gave the grandsons a good laugh when he would get on the Sea-Doo.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years Anna Jean (Holyfield), two daughters, Julie Everhart (Keith) of Shawnee KS and Cara Parks (Elmer) of Kansas City MO. His four grandsons Ethan, Dayton, Grant, and Seth. Many beloved extended family members both Breuer and Holyfield.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, sister Katherine (Kat), brothers Ray, Bob, and Lowell and one nephew John.
Dale contributed to many causes but had two favorites. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests any donations be made to:
