Norma Louise Groom
Norma Louise Groom, age 84, a longtime resident of Bonner Springs, KS. passed away on Monday, August 27, 2018. Her family will receive friends at a visitation from 10-11am, with the Celebration of her life beginning at 11am, both Friday, Aug. 31, at the Victory Assembly of God Church in Bonner Springs. Memorial Contributions can be made to the Church.
Norma was born on Nov. 18, 1933 in Saline County, Missouri and was the eldest, of seven children born to Eldon & Alice (Kirkpatrick) Baird. She grew up in Gower, Missouri and graduated from Gower High School. Norma married her High School Sweetheart, James Groom on Dec. 27, 1951. She had worked at the Sunflower IGA near Desoto, KS. and was wonderful at sewing, baking, cooking and gardening. Norma was a very faithful member of the Victory Assembly of God Church and loved to cook for her church family and for all kinds of church activities.
She is preceded in death by her husband James Groom in 2015, her parents, one daughter Jackie Clark in 2009, one grandchild Shonda Keiffaber in 1974, three siblings; Daymon Baird, Bobbie Miller and Mary Reynolds.
Survivors include her three daughters, Carol Kieffaber of Shawnee, KS., Pamela (Clifford) Bryant of Raplje, Montana, Rhonda DeHaven of Sedalia, MO. three siblings, Charlie (Chris) Baird, Judy (Joe) Barrow, Sue (Tim) Cooper, eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
