Melvin W. McMackin, Jr.
Melvin William McMackin, Jr. “Bud “ age 78, of Linn Valley, KS formally of Bonner Springs, KS passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at the Olathe Hospice House. Memorial services will be at 3 PM Sunday, April 24, at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home in Bonner Springs, KS with a family gathering to follow at the Harrington Family event space next-door.

The family suggests Memorial contributions to the Great Plains SPCA.

Bud was born on April 14, 1944 in Bonner Springs, KS and graduated from Bonner Springs High School in 1963. He worked for over 44 years at CertainTeed Fiberglass Manufacturing at the Fairfax plant in Kansas City, KS. Bud didn’t know a stranger and was very kind, he was loved by everyone that knew him. He especially loved hunting, fishing, golfing, making wine and more recently watching westerns.

He was preceded in death by one brother Ronnie McMackin and one sister Elsie James both in 2021. And he is survived by his wife of 58 years Ilene McMackin of the home. Two daughters Christine Schrader and her husband Kevin of Spring Hill, KS and Michelle Hoffine and her husband Stephen of Olathe, KS. Four siblings Melba Vaughn of Mindenmines, MO; Bob McMackin and his wife Emma of Henderson, NV; Carl McMackin and his wife Joyce of McLouth, KS and Lea Gibson of Carthage, MO. Five grandchildren Tyler (Amanda), Sarah (Nick), Noah, Jeremy (Liz) and Nick. Two great grandchildren Matthias and Wren as well as many nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, other family and friends and especially his beloved Boxer Lily, that will all miss him greatly.
