Mary K. Janesko, age 95, of Kansas City, KS., passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, December 28, 2019. Mary was born on May 23, 1924 at her family’s farm in Marshall, MO. She was the oldest of three children born to Leverette & Myra (LaRue) Marsh. Mary grew up in Marshall where she attended school and graduated from Marshall High School. As a young woman she moved to Kansas City where she met, and later married, John W. Janesko. They made their home in Kansas City, KS where they raised their five children. Mary was a longtime member of Christ the King Parish in Kansas City, KS. Her husband John passed away in 1970 and Mary dedicated herself to raising her young family. Later in life she cared for her Mother for many years. Mary loved to read, listen to Elvis Presley, and watch the KC Chiefs (she even knew the Tomahawk Chop).
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, an infant brother, her husband John, and her son John Janesko, Jr.
Survivors include her four children; Marsha Connell of Tempe, AZ., (twins) Kathryn Janesko of Kansas City, KS., and Marie Campbell (husband David) of Tonganoxie, KS., and James Janesko (wife Mary Thompson) of Tonganoxie, KS; brother Glenn Marsh and his wife Pat of Marshall, MO; six Grandchildren, five Great-Grandchildren and one Great-Grandson on the way as well as several other extended family and many friends.
Mary loved people. She was always interested in hearing everyone's life stories and knowing all about their families. She loved to watch the birds at the bird feeders in her front yard and especially enjoyed seeing cardinals. She loved to dress nicely everyday with her matching outfits, bracelets, pins, lipstick and perfume. She was a special, loving woman and her family and friends will always keep her in their hearts.
