Marvin was born on April 19, 1926, in Potter, KS, and he graduated from Basehor High School in 1944. Shortly thereafter he joined his two brothers working in the family business, Meyer Dairy. Marvin met the love of his life, Ernestine, at this time and they were married in 1950. He then served in the U.S. Army in El Paso, TX. Returning home, he continued managing the Dairy until 1968 when he began the Meyer Care home health agency. Marvin and Ernestine, his wife of 66 years, enjoyed living at Lake of the Forest in Bonner Springs, where they raised their family, from 1953 to 2016. He and Ernestine enjoyed traveling and were actively involved with their grandchildren as well as the Lake Forest community. Marvin had a long life of participating in many community service activities, including serving as the President of the Lake of the Forest Board, on numerous committees at the Bonner Springs United Methodist Church, and in the Bonner Springs-Edwardsville Rotary Club. Marvin’s family was his ultimate pride and joy. He actively followed the lives and interests of his children and five grandchildren until the very end of his life. Marvin was preceded in death by his wife Ernestine in 2016. He is survived by his two children, Marcia Herre (Chris) of Bonner Springs, and Bill Meyer (Ann), of Grand Lake, Colorado; as well as grandchildren Lindsay Cascino (Niccolo), Bryce Meyer, Emily Noland (Chad), Faith Meyer (Alex Goldberg), and Jackson Meyer. He is also survived by one sister, June Baker and one brother, Allen Meyer.
