Obituary for Marvin Kemler
Marvin Russell Kemler, age 74, of Basehor, Kansas passed away on July 23, 2023 at home. Funeral services will be 10 am Friday at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home, burial to follow in the Glenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7 pm Thursday also at the funeral home.
Marvin was born on August 29, 1948 in Leavenworth, Kansas. He built homes in Basehor, Tonganoxie and surrounding areas for many years. Marvin served in the Army in the Vietnam conflict from 1969 to 1971 receiving two Bronze Stars and an Army Commendation Medal. Marvin was married to Deborah Hunter of Tonganoxie in 1974 and had one child Christopher. He later married Donna Bryant of Kansas City in 2006. Marvin and Donna resided in Basehor.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents Charles and LaVera Kemler his older brother Harold Kemler and stepdaughter Kathy Reed. He is survived by his wife Donna Kemler, son Christopher Kemler, daughter-in-law Marisela Ramirez, grandson Ryan Reed, brother Richard Kemler, and Christopher’s mother Deborah Kemler.
