Mark Allen Zimmerly, age 57, of Basehor, Kansas and previously of Jacksonville, Florida went home to be with the Lord, and his Dad, on Wednesday, January 19th, 2022 while surrounded by his family, after a private, yet courageous battle with COPD. Visitation will be 10-11am, Funeral 11am both Saturday, Jan. 22nd at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Glenwood Cemetery in Basehor, KS. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Lung Association.
Mark was born on January 18th, 1965 in Kansas City, Kansas. He was the oldest of three children born to Chris & Pat (McClellan) Zimmerly. Mark grew up in Kansas City, KS and graduated from Washington High School in the Class of 1983. After graduating from high school, Mark started working at Clark Printing Co in North Kansas City and eventually ending up working for Mac Paper Company in Jacksonville, Fl. Mark loved to go fishing, camping, and his annual trips to the Missouri State Fair. He also enjoyed boating and was quite an accomplished water skier.
Mark was preceded in death by his father Chris Zimmerly in 2017 and by his grandparents Gene & Ermal McClellan.
Survivors include his daughter Mindi Zimmerly of Warsaw, MO., his mother Pat Zimmerly of the home, brother Kevin Zimmerly and his wife Karen of Bonner Springs, KS., sister Michelle Sexton and her husband Scott of California, as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
