Obituary for Mark Allen Hurt

Mark Allen Hurt, age 49, of Lansing, Kansas passed away on Wednesday March 27th, 2019 while surrounded by his loved ones. Funeral Service will be 2pm Saturday, March 30th at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home and a visitation will follow that service. Burial will be at a later date in the Leavenworth National Cemetery. Memorial Contributions can be made to the Disabled American Veterans.
Mark was born on October 5th, 1969 in Kansas City, Kansas. He grew up in Paola and Lansing, KS., graduating from Lansing High School in 1988. Following graduation, Mark entered the U.S. Army, serving during Operation Desert Storm. Upon returning from the service, Mark obtained his Bachelor’s Degree from DeVry University. He had a long career in the communications industry that even lead to him returning overseas, working in Iraq as a civilian contractor. One of Mark’s true passions was riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle and time spent riding with the Patriot Guard.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents; Oscar & Zella Fish and paternal grandparents Roy & Faye Hurt.
He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Laurie Hurt of the Home, one daughter; Makenzi Hurt of Overland Park, KS., two step children; Patrick Donelan of Olathe, KS. and Anna Donelan (Brittany Senner) of Seattle, WA., presently serving in the U.S. Navy. His parents Lowell & Judy Hurt of Lansing, KS., brother Brent Hurt (Nikki) of Leavenworth, KS., sister Rebekah Hurt (Tara Haney) of Kansas City, KS., as well as several extended family and friends.
