Marilyn Kay Murray
Marilyn Kay “Momma” Murray, age 70, of Bonner Springs, Kansas passed away on Friday, April 29th, 2022. Visitation will be 10-11am Friday, May 6th at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home followed by a Graveside Service at 11:30am at the Bonner Springs Cemetery.
Marilyn was born on September 26, 1951 in Kansas City, Kansas and was one of six children born to LeRoy & Helen Packard. Marilyn grew up in Bonner Springs and graduated from Bonner Springs High School. She worked for many years in her mother’s restaurant, Redwood Drive Inn, in Bonner Springs. After losing her husband at a young age, she was forced to raise her three children on her own. Marilyn was very active with her children, was a room mother in their classrooms, and instilled in them a hard work ethic and a “whole lotta Love”.
She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Avery Murray, Sr. Her parents, two brother Dale and Charles “Chuckie” Packard and one granddaughter Angel Marie Jennings.
Survivors include her children Richard Allen Murray of Wetumpka, AL., Kathy Garst (Mark Mercer) of Bonner Springs, KS., Karen Jennings (Keith) of Leavenworth, KS., step-son Richard Avery Murray, Jr. (Melissa) of Barns, KS., Siblings: Jimmy Packard of Tonganoxie, KS., Elaine Bundy of Basehor, KS., Norma Courtney (Paul) of Tonganoxie, KS., seven grandchildren: Ty, Kaylin, Tanner, Kayla, Nicole, Dakota and Sommer, four great-grandchildren Landon, Levi, Zena, Troy and one on the way. As well as several extended family members and many friends.
